Housing First
Park Apartments will offer safe, stable housing without barriers to transitional-age youth (ages 18-24). The building will have 45 fully furnished apartments, including kitchen utensils, linens, and toiletries. Shared communal spaces, including computer stations, toddler play area, along with a community room and kitchen, fitness room, and laundry.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Local staff with nonprofit Harbor will be among the partners providing a broad range of supports for residents. Supports will include: trauma-informed case management, employment assistance and job training, life skills training, along with connection to behavioral/mental health supports, education services, child care, food and transportation assistance.
Referral-Based Housing with Rent Subsidies
Apartments residents will be referred through Lucas County Children Services, Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center, and the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board. A project-based rent subsidy made available by LMH as well as a portion of the resident’s income will pay the rent for their stay.
Collaboration Between LHSC and Community Housing Network
As one of Ohio’s largest and longest-standing providers of permanent supportive housing, CHN has expertise in developing housing for vulnerable populations, including transitional-age youth.
